Sun StarSuite 8.0 출시

Sun은 고집스럽게도 계속 Office 제품을 개발하고 있다. 이 번 제품은 OpenOffice 프로젝트에 기반한 StarSuite 8.0 버전. 기존의 7.0 버전에 비해 MS Office와의 호환성을 높이고 OASIS OpenDocument 문서 포맷을 지원한다고 한다.

Writer, Impress (PowerPoint라고 생각하면 됨), Calc (Excel 이겠죠?), Draw, Base (Access 같은 거) 로 이루어진 제품이며 한글, 일어, 중국어 등을 지원한다.

가장 편리한 기능으로서는 PDF 변환기가 기본으로 제공된다는 것이다! 90 무료 버전을 사용해보시거나 아주 값싼 69$에 구입할 수 도 있다. 한 6만원 돈이면 Office 패키지를 구입할 수 있다니 정말 싸다!

괜시리 MS 제품을 (불법적으로) 사용하시기 싫은 분들이라면 사용을 권장함 :)
